After completely losing a tag team turmoil match against Cryme Tyme at New Year’s Revolution on January 7, The World’s Greatest Tag Team began their feud with them.
However, they succeeded in winning Cryme Tyme on the Raw episode from January 29. Shawn Michaels defeated Benjamin in the Royal Rumble match at the pay-per-view event of the same name.
On the April 2 episode of Raw, the duo of Ric Flair and Carlito suffered a further defeat. But in the following week, Haas sidetracked Carlito, allowing Benjamin to pin Flair, and they triumphed.

First, on January 10, Shelton Benjamin and the rest of Suzuki-gun invaded a Pro Wrestling Noah show and attacked Marufuji and TMDK.
