Her Career As A Basketball Player
Since she was a young child, Rosalyn Gold-Onwude has been interested in basketball. She used to participate in basketball for the varsity team at Archbishop Molloy High School. Additionally, she helped her team win two state basketball championships in 2003 and 2004, respectively.
Sadly, her knee injury put an end to her high school career. She nevertheless finished as the second-highest scorer for her squad all-time and the leader in steals and assists. She was the first Molloy athlete to be admitted to the GCHSAA Hall of Fame, receiving that honor in 2011.
She resumed playing Division I basketball for her university team after overcoming her injury. In the 2005–06 season, she was the team’s starting point guard; however, the knee issue she had previously experienced returned in the 2006–07 campaign. Thankfully, she came back as a shooting guard in the 2007–08 season and took part in three Final Four games in addition to two national championship games.
During her final year at Stanford University, she was even recognized for her abilities and contributions by being named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year.
Rosalyn played for the Cardinals, and during her time there, her team won four conference championships. Later, as her injury persisted, she decided to give up playing and embarked on a career as a sportscaster.
