PDC Career UK Open Title for Raymond Van Barneveld
In the final match of the UK Open in June, Barney defeated Barrie Bates. It was his first major PDC title victory.

Barneveld also defeated Phil Taylor in the semi-finals of the Las Vegas Desert Classic 2006 two weeks later.
2012 Darts Grand Slam
Barney won the non-ranking Grand Slam of Darts in November 2012. It was his first major competition in more than five years.
He defeated Mark Walsh 5-0 in his first group match before losing 5-4 to darts champion Christian Kist in his second.

The Premier League
During the Premier League years, Barney threw some of his most consistent darts, going undefeated for 12 matches and finishing second in the rankings.
After 21 tries, he defeated Phil Taylor in the event semi-finals for the first time, coming back from a 4-1 deficit to win 8-5.
The Dutch player had never advanced past the semi-finals of the event, having lost at this level in the previous six years.
Similarly, Raymond went on to win the championship 10-6 against Michael van Gerwen in the final after winning four consecutive legs from 5-5.
