Mark (full name Mark Overgaard Madsen) was born on September 23, 1984, in Nykbing Falster, Denmark, under the sign of Libra. Even though little is known about Mark’s childhood, he was born into a Mormon family.
Mark is now an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Furthermore, he is the fifth child in a family of ten children. When it comes to his career, he first fell in love with wrestling at the age of six.

Mark Madsen made his debut in the wrestling ring at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Unfortunately, his debut match was a loss to Varteres Samurgashev of Russia. In the first preliminary round of his men’s Greco-Roman 74 kg fight, he was defeated.
Even though Mark had trained at one of the best clubs with one of the best coaches, his early career was in shambles. Mark lost to another Russian wrestler, Roman Vlasov, in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Anyway, he dragged and made up for the repechage loss by defeating France’s Christophe Guénot. Following that, Mark Madsen reached the bronze medal round, but his only chance was squandered against Lithuania’s Aleksandr Kazakevi.
Overall, his series of losses, but nothing but devotion, enabled him to become an Olympian, just as he had hoped alongside his grandfather. Mark won silver in the men’s Greco-Roman 75 kg event at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Indeed, wrestling wasn’t the only way Mark Madsen saw himself. He began training and has been a member of the MMA since late 2012. He did, however, sign a contract with European MMA in February 2013.
It’s a complicated situation because Mark Madsen was still receiving a salary from the Danish Wrestling Federation and had to put his MMA career on hold in the meantime. Mark first competed professionally in MMA in 2013 and 2014, but then stopped until his retirement.
After retiring from wrestling, Mark Madsen won four consecutive professional matches on the regional circuit in 2016. Following that, he signed a contract with the Cage Warriors.
Moving on, Mark Madsen made his debut on September 23, 2018, against Alexandre Bordin at the inaugural event of Cage Warriors Academy. He won the event with dominant grappling and a unanimous decision victory.
Similarly, he began his career with Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas. On December 15, 2018, Mark fought Mathew Bonner after completing his training. The match was won by unanimous decision during the Cage Warriors Academy Denmark 2 event.
