Jonathan was born in Coral Gables, Florida, on April 16, 1982. He was raised by his parents, Fritz Vilma and Nelly Banatte, who arrived in the country from Haiti in 1970.
He went to G.W. Carver Middle School for his middle school education. He attended Coral Gables High School after completing middle school, where he began playing football after meeting Franklin Delano Gore, a running back for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills.
