Journalist John Knicely has persevered in his job despite having five kids and six grandchildren. His charisma and skills have only become better as he gets older. He has been a reporter for more than 40 years, including the Omaha Press Club’s “Face on the Barroom Floor” award and the Journalism Alumni Award of Excellence. John Knicely also held a position as a teacher at one time in his life, as if journalism was not a respectable enough profession.

John Knicely Wife, Family
One of the few individuals who treasure love for a very long period is John Knicely. On September 6, 1977, he wed Sue Knicely, who would become his wife. After the marriage, the modest family gradually grew larger. John and his wife are parents to a set of twins and a total of five kids. The kids are Spencer, 29, Grant, 29, John Ryan, 37, Mitchel, 33, and Kristen, 39. Given that he is also a TV journalist, one of his sons with the same name as John undoubtedly followed in his father’s footsteps.
John Knicely watched his kids as they grew up and said goodbye to them at their weddings. In 2013, he shared a photo of his son John Ryan and his wife Melaine, and in 2015, he shared a stunning wedding photo of his son Mitch and his girlfriend Allie. As of today, John and his wife Sue are grandparents to six grandchildren; the sixth kid was born on June 29, 2015.
John is a devoted husband and father who never fails to stand by them in good times and bad. When he was employed by KTVI in St. Louis in the 1980s, he even relocated back to Omaha so he could be nearer to his family.
WOWT / Salary
John Knicely has a long history of involvement with WOWT. He started working as a sportscaster for WOWT in 1974, and after seven years there, he finally moved on to a new position at the ABC affiliate KTVI in 1981. John transferred to KETV in May 1984 just three years after starting his career at St. Louis’ KTVI in order to spend more time with his family.
John didn’t know what he wanted until he switched broadcast channels many times in 1992. At the pinnacle of his career, he went against all logic and returned to WOWT Channel 6. He made the decision to become an anchor this time, hosting the newscasts at 5, 6, and 10 p.m.
He discusses the reporter’s point of view from behind the scenes in the programs. He receives a sizable compensation of more than $100K per year for his active participation in the WOWT6 for more than three decades. John consistently donates a sizeable sum to abused and abandoned children because he thinks that money should be used to aid those in need.

According to his biography, John Knicely was born on December 7th, 1951. He has resided in cities such as Omaha, Nebraska, and Dallas, Texas. The anchor is a member of the Caucasian ethnic group and practices Christianity. Although he periodically publishes photos with his parents and siblings on social media, there is very little information available about them. The images show that, despite his busy schedule, John Knicely finds time to spend with his family.
The fact that their parents, who are over 90 years old, can spend time with John and his brother Jim makes them very happy. John is incredibly grateful for and devoted to his parents.
