The premiere of Stab That Cake!, the following Food Network culinary competition, is scheduled for Friday, December 30, 2022, at 9 p.m. ET. In the series, three professional bakers compete to determine if their incredibly lifelike confections can pass for real treats when placed next to real cakes in various supermarkets. Two cake-loving teams will compete to determine whichever team can locate their respective cakes that have been hidden in plain sight first.
The hosts of Stab That Cake! will be John Henson and Jocelyn Delk Adams. Jocelyn is the author of the bestselling cookbook “Grandbaby Cakes,” the founder of the food blog “Grandbaby,” a national television personality, and a brand ambassador for Cakes.com. The chef wants to serve up her grandmother’s well-known traditional meals with a contemporary twist.
Professional Life And Career of Jocelyn Delk Adams
The host of Stab That Cake!, Jocelyn Delk Adams, wrote about her baking experiences on her personal website. It wasn’t until she was in her twenties that she realized she had a “baking gene.” She is currently in her 30s and has a huge passion for baking. Her grandmother served as the source of inspiration for Grandbaby Cakes, which offers a selection of traditional and classic recipes with a modern twist.
Jocelyn makes her recipes available through her business so that others can replicate her food in a more convenient and up-to-date manner. Through the company, the presenter wants to encourage a new generation of bakers and food enthusiasts so that people won’t feel guilty about making and consuming desserts. She wrote in a comment on her website about memories of her grandmother baking:
Going to Mississippi to watch my grandmother, or “big mama” Maggie as my family adoringly calls her, bake used to be one of my favorite things to do. Big Mama’s cakes are so delicious that her neighbors have been lining up around the block to try some.
The host of Stab That Cake! has judged numerous Food Network cooking competition shows, including Santa’s Baking Blizzard and Beat Bobby Flay, and is a TODAY show tastemaker. Jocelyn has also been in a number of well-known shows, such as the longest-running programs on the Cooking Channel and the OWN Network, Unique Sweets and Food Fantasies. In 1994, Jocelyn began her professional dance career. In 2003, she moved up to become a production assistant. Before being appointed to Director of Production Scheduling in 2005, she worked as a freelancer for numerous production companies. The host has experience managing external affairs for the Chicago Urban League as well as working in production companies and managing and producing events.
Since launching Grandbaby Cakes in 2012, she has been working hard to grow the company and develop new delicious cake recipes for her followers. The Stab That Cake! presenter has been featured on numerous programs, including The Rachael Ray Show, Food Network’s The Kitchen, The Cooking Channel, ABC World News Now, Hallmark Channel, Better Homes and Gardens, O (The Oprah) Magazine, and many others.
For a number of businesses, including Coca-Cola, Pillsbury, Yoplait, McCormick, Safest Choice Eggs, KitchenAid, and White Lily, Jocelyn has served as a brand ambassador and writer. She has also spoken at TED, where she presented a talk on brand authenticity in 2017. Grandbaby Cakes, her first cookbook, was released in 2015 and has since been highlighted in a number of publications.
The cookbook also won the Gourmand World Award 2016 for Best Blogger Cookbook USA and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award 2016 for Outstanding Literary Instructional Work. A Charitable Confection, a “anti-violence dessert benefit featuring Chicago’s best bakeries,” was also launched by her.
