Brian Burke, the head of hockey operations for the Calgary Flames, was Jennifer Mather’s longtime partner.
In the Bahamas, the couple exchanged wedding vows in 2007. They welcomed two young girls as a married couple; the first they named Mairin and the second Fiona.
Mairin was Jennifer’s first child, but Brian had four sons from his former marriage. Patrick, his son, works as a director in the NHL’s Player Safety Division.
Her stepson Patrick recently proposed to his fiancée Caiti. Her husband posted information about his son’s engagement on Twitter. Patrick ran in the Boston Marathon as well to show his support for the LGBTQ community. Brian seemed to be quite proud of his son for developing into such a remarkable person. Since he is so preoccupied with his work, he must be following in his father’s footsteps.
