Jan Pol was born on September 4, 1942, on the outskirts of Nederlands.

He entered in the Utrecht University Veterinary school for his education, and in 1970 he received his degree.

Diane Pol is Jan Pol’s wife of many years, and he shares a marital relationship.

In 1961, they first ran into one another at Mayville High School. Later, they began dating after falling in love. After a few short years of courtship, the couple exchanged wedding vows in 1971. Then they relocated to Harbor Beach, Michigan, and finally made Weidman, Michigan, their permanent home.

Despite the fact that Jan and Diane are not parents biologically, they have three adoptive children: Kathlene, Charles, and Diane.

Adam and Rachel Butch were born as a result of their daughter Kathlene’s marriage to Gregory Butch. Unfortunately, Kathlene lost both her son Adam and her husband Gregory (d. 2019). Cancer was the cause of Gregory’s death, however, the Pol family chooses to remain mum about Adam’s cause of death.

Jan Pol had no fantasies about working in the entertainment sector or pursuing an acting career. He’s been a veterinarian his entire life. However, his aptitude and expertise in the veterinary area led him to television programs.

He appeared in his first TV Series documentary, The Incredible Dr. Pol, in 2011 as a DVM / veterinarian. The popularity of the program paved the way for him to appear in further programs. After that, he appeared in the 2015 TV series Jinek as a Dierenarts and in the hit TV series documentary Calling Dr. Pol as a DVM (2015-16).
