The Memphis Grizzlies selected Franklin with the 41st overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
During his rookie season, he had multiple assignments with the NBA Development’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
He joined the team for the 2014 NBA Summer League in July 2014 and was later waived by the Grizzlies in August 2014.
Franklin then signed a two-month contract with the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association in October 2014.
