Who is Hugh Hewitt? Bio, Age, Net Worth, Relationship, Height, Ethnicity

Hugh Hewitt, an American talk show presenter, enjoys a healthy family life with his wife of almost 40 years. Hugh does not enjoy going into great depth about his romantic life, but his timely posts on his marriage keep his admirers informed.

Hugh Hewitt’s Decades-Long Married Life

On July 10, 2019, the presenter of The Hugh Hewitt Show posted a rare photo of himself and his wife, Betsy Hewitt, taken on their wedding day back in 1982.

The recently married pair can be seen leaving Camp Pendleton’s Ranch House Chapel in the photo.

Betsy Hewitt, Hugh’s wife, looked lovely in a long-sleeved white gown while toting a bunch of flowers, while Hugh appeared dapper in a black suit with a red striped tie.

They originally connected at a San Diego fundraising event. The couple has been through a lot together, and as of 2021, they are celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary.

Who Are His Children?

Three children, two sons, and a girl, who are all successful in their respective fields of employment, are raised by Hugh and his wife.

Since 2016, Hugh’s daughter Diana Hewitt, a Northwestern University alumna, has collaborated with him on The Hugh Hewitt Show. She started at the show as a media booker and is now a booking producer.

Also unknown is his son Will Hewitt’s most recent whereabouts. However, his second son, James Hewitt, is well known for being the US House of Representatives senior advisor and communications director.

James, a 2010 graduate of the University of Colorado, started his career. He made his way up through a variety of positions during his career before securing the position of communication director in the US House of Representatives in 2021.

Hugh, however, faced backlash in 2018 for a contentious conflict of interest situation involving his son James.

Hugh Hewitt’s Controversy

Hugh gained notoriety in 2018 for supposedly protecting the unethical EPA administrator Scott Pruitt.

When Pruitt was discovered paying $50 for a night in an apartment, his moral character was called into doubt. Some thought the lobbyist gave the property away for such a low price, but Pruitt refuted this and said he approved the deal.

Hugh first came to attention when he defended Pruitt and was accused of having a conflict of interest since Pruitt had appointed his son James to a political position.

Some detractors and democratic members of congress requested the resignation of the former EPA Administrator due to the incident. Hugh, though, carried on with his routine after the situation eventually came to a resolution.

Career and Net Worth

1983 was the beginning of the profession for the Harvard University alumnus, who worked as a clerk for the District of Columbia Circuit.

Hugh served in a variety of capacities under the Reagan administration, including those of deputy director, general counsel, assistant White House Counsel, and special assistant to the attorney general.

His shows The Hugh Hewitt Show and High Hewitt are the ones for which he is best known. After working his way up, he then switched to radio and television.

Given his nearly four decades of success in the media industry, the multi-hyphenate media figure undoubtedly has an amazing net worth.

Additionally, he likely makes over $45,000 per year as a radio broadcaster while also earning a sizable fortune from his television program on NBC News and MSNBC.
