When they first met, there was an instant connection between them that couldn’t be denied, and in 1992 they began dating.
The pair survived longer than most people anticipated. Francesca and James made the decision to be married after being sincerely in love for almost five years. The day of their marriage was August 17, 1997. On June 13, 1998, Francesca and her husband welcomed Cali Tee Hetfield into the world. Francesca and James welcomed Castor Virgil Hetfield into the world on May 18, 2000, with the hope of adding another bundle of joy to their family. On January 17, 2002, they also gave birth to their smallest daughter, Marcella Francesca Hetfield. James and Francesca decided to repeat their wedding vows in 2004 after seven years of marriage. James continued by stating that fear was a great motivator for him because he struggled with feelings of abandonment and didn’t want his new family to suffer the same fate as his previous one (his parents got divorced and his mother passed away from cancer). James added that despite facing more challenging circumstances, he and Francesca simply emerged stronger. Not only that, but the singer admitted that he knew the instant he met her that she had been sent to save him from the pit of hell.
James and Francesca are currently enjoying a wonderful marriage and a family life.
