The Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL) selected Larkin 15th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Dylan Larkin, a young ice hockey player, was born in Waterford, Michigan, in the United States of America. Kevin Larkin (father) and Sidney Denise Larkin (mother) are his proud parents (mother).

Dylan grew up in his hometown with his older brother, Colin Larkin, as well as his parents. Dylan is not the only one in his family who plays ice hockey.

Colin, his older brother, signed a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers after finishing his collegiate hockey career. Dylan’s cousins, Adam and Ryan, also play ice hockey.

On May 21, 2015, Larkin signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings after a successful freshman season with the Michigan Wolverines.

Dylan finally made his Griffins debut on May 24, 2015, against the Utica Comets. Larkin scored his first professional goal against Jacob Markstrom in his second match.

Larkin made another history in October when he was named to the final roster for the 2015-16 season, becoming the first 19-year-old to play on opening night since Mike Sillinger in 1990-91.
