Speaking of his dedication to the business, before joining News 12, Doug spent almost six years working for WALK Radio. He used to host the morning and evening news while employed there as an anchor and reporter. Doug made the decision to relocate to News 12 Long Island as a news anchor in 1986.
When News 12 went on the air in December 1986, he was a founding member of the crew. In 1991, Doug also founded the East End and Bureau of the 12. Since then, he has worked for the network for more than thirty years, and he has made great contributions to the News 12 Long Island team.
Up to this point, Doug has had nominations for ten Emmy Awards, ten of which he has also won. The LI Press Club also recognized him 2004 Journalist of the Year. Also, Doug has received numerous local, regional, and national honors.
