For someone who’s followed action movies, Dolph Lundgren isn’t one of those people you shouldn’t know. He is an actor who has become famous for his massive physique and the villain roles he sometimes plays.
Besides acting, he is a film producer, director and martial artist. Since he started his acting career in the late 1970s, the Swedish actor has taken part in many films and productions.

While his mother, Sigrid Birgitta, was an English teacher, his father, Karl Johan Hugo Lundgren, was an engineer. He grew up in Stockholm until he was a teenager and then moved to Nyland, Ångermanland in his native Sweden to live with his grandparents.
Growing up alongside an older brother and two sisters, his father was abusive and somehow because he kept calling him a loser, Hans worked so hard to prove himself.
Although fine arts and music were his earliest interests, he would later go on to get an engineering degree. Even more, since he was a child, he loved fierce contact sports like judo, boxing and karate – a sport in which he would go on to become a world-class competitor.

One of the interesting things about Dolph Lundgren is that the actor is well-educated. After high school, he studied at Washington State University and Clemson University in South Carolina. He also attended the University of Sydney, Australia, where he received a scholarship for his Masters in Chemical Engineering. A year later he received a Fulbright scholarship to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.
However, he decided to pursue an acting career, so he attended the Warren Robertson Theater Workshop, where he studied acting.
In 1985 he landed his first acting role when he appeared in A View of a Kill which was followed by Rocky IV in the same year. In 1994 he produced an appearance in Pentathlon and when he appeared in Black Water, Creed II, and Aquaman, in 2018 he has already appeared in almost 60 films.
While there’s no denying that he’s a fantastic actor, he doesn’t have too many awards under his belt. The first award he won was in 1985 when he won the Marshall Trophy for Best Actor for his role in Rocky IV He received the Lifetime Achievement Diamond Award during the 2013 CineRockom International Film Festival.

Before becoming very famous, Dolph Lundgrin got into a relationship with Jamaican singer Grace Jones. The whirlwind relationship only lasted six months before suddenly ending.
