Daron Cruickshank was born on June 11, 1985, in Westland, Michigan, United States. Cruickshank is 36 years old and of American nationality as of 2021.
Cruickshank’s father, Dean Cruickshank (Taekwondo/fourth-degree black belt), and mother, Deborah Hamblen (Kickboxing and boxing), were both fighters.

Professional Career, (Mixed martial artist)
Daron began his MMA career in August 2008. He made his debut against Tom Grisham and knocked him out.
Daron won two amateur titles and set an amateur record of eight wins and one loss.
Daron made his professional wrestling debut in King of the Cage: Strike Point. In his debut, he faced Rickey Settner and knocked him out in the first round. Daron then won his next five KOTC fights to earn a title shot.
Daron later fought Bobby Green for the Junior Welterweight Championship at King of the Cage: Imminent Danger.
However, he was defeated in the second round by a guillotine choke. Daron defeated Anthony Smith via TKO in his last fight at KOTC.

The Ultimate Fighter
Daron competed in the UFC reality TV series The Ultimate Fighter: Live in March 2012. In an elimination fight, Daron fought against Drew Dober and won by unanimous decision.

Daron fought Yves Edwards at UFC on Fox 8 on July 27, 2013. Daron was a replacement for the injured Spencer Fisher, and he won by split decision in a close fight.
Daron fought Martins on November 9, 2013, and was defeated by submission in the second round. Daron, on the other hand, won his next fight against Mike Rio by KO on January 25, 2014, at UFC Fight Night 40.
Daron later faced Erik Koch at UFC Fight Night 40 on May 10, 2014. He was the underdog in this fight, but Daron defeated him in the first round by TKO after a head kick and punches.
Daron faced Jorge Masvidal in his next fight on July 26, 2014, at UFC on Fox 12. Daron knocked Jorge out with a punch in the first round, but Jorge recovered well and won the unanimous decision.

Second Injury and a contentious fight against K.J Noons
On December 12, 2014, Daron faced K.J Noons in the Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale. After a closely contested first round, the fight was stopped in the second round when Noons poked Cruickshank in the eyes.
Daron was winning and didn’t want the fight to end. However, referee John McCarthy ruled the fight out and declared the match No Contest.

It was the only match in his UFC career that ended in a draw. The UFC doctor examined him after the fight, and Daron performed surgery the next day to repair the torn duct.

A setback in my UFC career
Daron fought Beneil Driaush on March 12, 2015, at UFC 185. He came in around 157.5 lb short on his first weigh-in attempt. Even with more time, he was unable to reduce the weight—this time weighing around 157lb.
Dariush was later awarded the fine, which was equal to 20% of Daron’s purse. He was defeated by submission in the second round.
Daron later faced James Krause at UFC on Fox 16 on July 25, 2015, and lost by submission in the first round. On January 17, 2016, he lost by submission to Paul Felder in his next fight at UFC Fight Night 81.

Daron’s UFC contract was terminated on March 1, 2016, after he lost three consecutive fights. His overall UFC record was 6-6-1 after 13 fights (Wins- Loss- NO).
Fighting Federation RIZIN
Daron signed with RIZIN Fighting Federation after becoming a free agent in March 2016. Then, on April 17, 2016, Daron made his debut against Shinji Sasaki, defeating him by TKO via a soccer kick in the first round.
Daron faced Dutch kickboxer Andy Souwer in his second fight on September 25, 2016. He won the first round by submission from the rear-naked choke for the second time.
Daron then lost consecutive matches against Satoru Kitaoka on December 29, 2016, and again on April 16, 2017.
Daron then went on an incredible four-game winning streak. On September 30, 2017, Daron defeated fellow American fighter Alexander Trevino in his first of four victories. He won the fight by TKO.
