Who is Connor Jaeger?

Connor Jaeger is a former professional freestyle distance swimmer from the United States. Despite having a brief career, he was a huge success.

He took part in two Olympics, winning one silver medal. Similarly, he holds the 800m freestyle US Open record and the 1500m American freestyle record.

Connor Jaeger was born in Fair Haven, New Jersey on April 30, 1991. Eric Jaeger and Bernadette Jaeger raised him as their youngest child.

He also has an older sister named Dana Jaeger. They spent their childhood doing swimming lessons together.

His parents enrolled him in swimming lessons at a young age. He also mentions crying every day during a class.

Jaeger attended the University of Michigan after graduating from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School in 2010.

He won his first NCAA championship as a freshman in 2011, winning the 800 yard freestyle relay.

Later in his sophomore season, he finished third in the 1650 yard freestyle and fifth in the 500 yard freestyle.

Despite being elected team captain his sophomore year, he turned to respect his rising seniors.

Jaeger was named captain the following season, fresh from the Olympics, and his name appeared on every voting ballot.

Later in his career, he led Michigan to the NCAA Team Championship, winning 500 and 1650 yards freestyle.

Jaeger successfully defended his 1650 yards freestyle title in his final year, but he finished third in 500 yards freestyle.

In Kazan’s 2015 FINA World Championship, he finished just off the podium in his first two events.

He finished fourth in both the 400m and 800m freestyle events. In his final event, however, he restored American pride in distance swimming.

Jaeger finished the grueling 1500m freestyle just four seconds slower than the American record. Despite trailing for the majority of the race, he came back in the final 500m.

Jager earned his ticket to the Olympics by winning the 400m on the first night of the USA Olympic Trials. Similarly, on the final day of the trails, he won the 1500m freestyle.

Jaeger desired a solid foundation for his real estate career. So, in addition to his engineering degree, he pursued a business degree.

His life has always been a balancing act; he earned his master’s degree while training for the 2016 Olympics.

Similarly, even after retiring, Jaeger is still involved in the swimming world, having joined Fitter and Faster and working as a real state project manager.
