Journalist Alice Plunkett is much more than just what people see when they see her broadcast on ITV Racing in the UK. She is the only woman to have finished both the Grand National course at Aintree and the horse riding portion of the Badminton Horse Trials. As she began presenting for National Hunt Racing coverage, her background in horseback riding helped her land a job in journalism.
As a journalist, Alice Plunkett has accomplished a lot. She earns a respectable salary of about £32K per year as a presenter in the UK.
Alice Plunkett Wedding, Husband & Children
When Alice Plunkett was barely fourteen years old, she met the love of her life. She and her future husband, however, had no idea what fate had in store for them at that time. Therefore, it took a while before the destined couple ran into each other again!
William Fox-Pitt, an English equestrian who has won three Olympic medals, is married to Alice. William Fox-Pitt, a well-known two-time silver medalist, is a tall man standing at 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 meters). William and Wiggy Channer, his first wife of four years, had recently separated when Alice and William were wed in 2003. William was at his lowest moment in life when he met Alice, Alice admitted in an interview.
Alice, though, remained at William’s side as he took his time to come to terms with his past wounds and did not give up on him. Alice restored William’s faith in romantic love, which soon resulted in the wedding!
Their relationship wasn’t, however, all sunshine and cupcakes. William suffered significant brain injuries after he fell off his horse in 2015, and he eventually fell into a coma. Since he was in such bad shape, Alice always sat by his side and encouraged him, and it didn’t take him long to recover and compete in the following Olympics. What a beautiful woman Alice is.
Currently, the couple has four kids: Oliver, 12, Thomas, 11, and Chloe, 5. The contented family lives in the Dorset village of Hinton St Mary with two pigs, two rabbits, three dogs, a cat, a lizard, one cat, and rare breed hens.
Alice Plunkett Age, Birthday
Every 5 January, Alice Plunkett celebrates her 1965 birth year. Her family bred and raised horses when she was growing up. She even finished the Fox Hunters race riding her grandfather’s racing horse, Bold King’s Hussar, who placed 14th overall. It is obvious that her grandfather played a significant part in influencing her passion for horseback riding.
The disease that claimed the lives of two of Alice’s sisters was also disclosed in an interview. When she was only sixteen, Katie, Alice’s sister, succumbed to leukemia after a brief struggle that lasted just over a month. After receiving a melanoma diagnosis, her other sister Eloise passed away at the age of 27. Undoubtedly, Alice was close to both of them, and the loss of two sisters so early gave Alice anguish she would never be able to overcome.
Alice still finds beauty and is grateful for her life despite the fact that the disease has destroyed her family. She even participated in a horse race for charity to support cancer research.
