According to his biography, Ade Adepitan was born in Maryland, Lagos, Nigeria, on March 27, 1973. He developed polio at the age of six months, which caused him to lose the use of his left leg and ultimately made it impossible for him to walk. His father was in London when he and his mother lived in Nigeria. Along with him, his mother moved to the UK to live with her husband.
