In Spanish-language television entertainment, Eugenio Derbez and his family are ‘THE Family’ to watch. His reality show, De Viaje Con Los Derbez, features him, his wife Alessandra Rosaldo, and their children.
The show depicts the family’s day-to-day activities and how they interact with one another. The show’s second season premiered in early 2021, depicting the family’s stay in the United States.
They were seen traveling through the northwest United States, learning how to survive in the wild. This meant they had to be in constant contact with one another.
Eugenio’s family learned a lot and became closer during the season. He was able to see his children’s interactions and understand more about them up close.
Eugenio found out many things about his children
They filmed in the picturesque states of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana for the season. They had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. The journey was a personal one for the family, who traveled in an RV together the entire time. Eugenio explained what he discovered about his children during the trip to Hola! in May 2021.
The reality personality joked, “That I should have been more strict.” However, he followed up with a serious response. He noticed that his children, who grew up and were raised separately, got along swimmingly. He assumed it was because of what he had taught them.
“I suppose I taught them not to take things too seriously and to always look at life through the lens of humour,” he remarked. They were frequently joking around, which made it easy for them to get along.
The kids learned a lot about one other and their parents as well. During an interview with Hola!, his daughter Aislinn commented, “I think we got a closer relationship, everybody.”
His son, actor Jose Eduardo, discovered his distaste for outdoors. Even though he was an expert woodchopper, he stated, “I wouldn’t last an hour in the forest.” His second child, Vadhir, was the polar opposite of his sibling. He adored nature and was the family’s “expert nature survivor.” Vadhir might even “kill a bear and whatnot,” according to Jose Eduardo.
Both boys recognized that their parents had a strong working relationship and that they both gave their all at work.
Eugenio’s Perspective on Fatherhood Has Shifted
Eugenio is the father of four children by four different women. On March 18, 1986, he gave birth to his firstborn child, Aislinn Derbez, with previous partner Gabriela Michel. He and his then-partner Silvana Prince welcomed their second son Vadhir Derbez on February 18, 1991. Jose Eduardo Derbez, whom he had with his ex-partner, actress Victoria Ruffo, arrived on April 14, 1992.
Following in their father’s footsteps, all three of them have built careers as actors. He’d had enough of parenting for a spell after three children. “First and foremost, let me tell you, I was like, ‘I’m not going to do this again,'” he admitted on an August 2019 Mama Said podcast (via Hola!)
His wife Alessandra, whom he married on July 7, 2012, following a lengthy proposal, was not pleased with his decision. He changed his views because it was a major issue for her. “I’m loving it,” he stated of his new decision and life with his youngest daughter, Atiana Derbez. On August 4, 2014, she was born.
He also happens to be the grandfather of Aislinn’s daughter, Kai. He and his wife, Atiana, now live in Los Angeles.
