The director was born in the United States on November 29, 1988. He was the son of Robert (father) and Barbara (mother) Heltibridle (mother). He has a brother named Robert Heltibridle III as well.
In terms of nationality, James was an American of Caucasian ethnicity.
He enrolled in the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2009 to study film production and graduated in 2013 with a specialization in Art Direction and Production Design.

James was an expert in various professions, including Art Direction, Visual Merchandising, Precision Driving, and SketchUp Modeling. The late man of all seasons defined himself as a filmmaker, designer, and artist on his Twitter account. He worked as a filmmaker in Atlanta, Georgia for most of his career.
James began his career as an art director at Run and Gun in Asheville. He worked under the Production Designer to carry out the film’s desired design.
Heltibridle began working as an interior design intern at Studio s2 in April 2014. At the company, he used to create 3D models and volumetric designs. At the time, he also edited CAD build drawings.
After working for Studio for almost a year, James was hired as a production assistant at Stalwart Films LLC. Additionally, the artist spent roughly a month, working as a production assistant at Netflix according to his Linkedin.
Moving on to on-screen credits, Heltibridle primarily worked on short films such as Death and the Robot, Venison Eaters, Dust Devils, and others.

James joined the Props Department of the mega-hit TV series The Walking Dead after working on a few short films. For the series’ 16 episodes in 2016, he worked as a property master and played a few other key roles behind the camera. Hearts Still Beating, Sing Me a Song, The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be, and more uncredited episodes include him.
There is no information on when Heltibridle started working on the TV show, however, he has been seen attending events since 2015. He also posted additional project photographs to his Twitter account.

How Did James Heltibridle Pass Away? His Cause of Death
Unfortunately, the filmmaker was killed in a terrible car accident on November 10, 2016. The Michael Jaegers Officially Undead Fan Site Facebook group was the first to report the appalling news, stating,
“Rest in peace, James Heltibridle, one of our unsung heroes on The Walking Dead and a member of our film business family. James worked in the Props Department and died in a car accident yesterday night.”
Heltibridle’s previous college, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, posted on its Facebook page a few days following his unexpected death,
“Last week, the #UNCSAalumni family lost one of our own. After leaving the set of The Walking Dead, James Heltibridle (Film ’15) was murdered in a car accident. You can express your condolences to his family online here. Memorial contributions to the Film Art Department can be given at www.uncsa.edu/giving.”
According to the above-mentioned account, the incident occurred when Heltibridle was returning from the television show The Walking Dead. The episode’s title card also paid tribute to his memory. He was 28 years old at the time of his death.
James had a net worth of $500,000 at the time of his death. He made a lot of money through his various behind-the-scenes roles.
