Biography, Age, Nationality, Parents
Trevor McDonald was born on August 16, 1939, as George McDonald in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, to parents Lawson McDonald and Geraldine McDonald. He is currently 78 years old.
Lawson McDonald, his father, worked in an oil refinery and raised pigs. Trevor was the eldest of four siblings in his family.
Trevor was denied a good education because he was raised in a poor household. Despite the adverse circumstances, his caring parents’ motivation and strength enabled him to learn a great deal.
Trevor rose through the ranks, receiving honorary degrees from the University of Plymouth and Liverpool John Moores University. His career in the media began in the 1960s, when he worked as a print and broadcast journalist in Trinidad.
Trevor’s English media career began in 1969, when he joined BBC Radio in London as a producer. Later, as a general reporter, McDonald began his long association with Independent Television News (ITN) in 1973. He later worked as a sports correspondent before shifting his focus to international politics.
Trevor hosted News at Ten for the network from 1992 until it was cancelled in 1999. However, the show returned on January 22, 2001, with Trevor reprising his role as a presenter.
McDonald decided to retire on December 15, 2005, after reaching great heights with the ITV network. Despite this, the veteran journalist returned from retirement in 2008 to host the relaunched News at Ten.
He worked until October 30, 2008, and then left the show after the 2008 US presidential election. Following that, he continued to present links for The Tonight Show.
McDonald has amassed a massive net worth from his media career, in addition to receiving a knighthood in 1999 for his excellent services to journalism. Trevor earned a yearly salary of £600,000 on ITV prior to his retirement.

Following their mutual attraction, the couple decided to marry in 1964. They soon had their two children, Tim, born in 1970, and Joanne, born in 1974.
However, their long-term relationship ended in 1985 when they filed for divorce after a long separation. Trevor married his second wife, Josephine, a year later.
There have been no reports of the couple’s feuds as of yet. As a result, Trevor is most likely living his life to the fullest with his partner, Josephine.
