Tommicus Walker and LeToya Luckett divorced earlier this year after three years of marriage. On January 11, the former Destiny’s Child member shared an official statement on Instagram, which has since been deleted, announcing their divorce.
“Tommicus and I have chosen to get a divorce after much prayer,” she wrote, beside a photo of the ex-couple and their daughters Tysun Wolf Walker and Gianna Iman.
“Out of respect for our children, it is my deepest desire for us to be loving co-parents and maintain a calm environment,” she continued.
She closed her lengthy post by thanking her well-wishers in advance for their prayers, support, and space, while also emphasizing the need of respecting her privacy.
Walker, a Texas entrepreneur, also confirmed the divorce on Instagram, calling their decision “extremely difficult.”
He wrote in his since-deleted post that he and Luckett will continue to co-parent their 11-month-old boy, Tysun, and 2-year-old daughter, Gianna, as friends.
Rumors of Walker cheating on Luckett circulated the internet prior to the divorce. He addressed the rumors on his Instagram stories the same day he announced the divorce. Walker stated that he was not unfaithful to his ex-wife and blamed his marriage’s disintegration on “outside forces.”
They sought the advice of a marriage counselor prior to filing for divorce. Walker and Luckett, who married in a small ceremony in Texas Hills Country in December 2017, had a rocky relationship before calling it quits.
As a result, during their appearance on VH1’s reality show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle in 2020, they had marriage counseling sessions. The former couple separately expressed their thoughts and interruptions that were causing them to grow apart in an episode that aired in May 2020.
Walker claimed that Luckett disliked him because he was impolite, spoke in a direct tone, and didn’t offer quiet phrases. She, on the other hand, shared his complaints with her: she didn’t cook enough, she wasn’t as patient as she used to be in fights, and she didn’t schedule enough alone time.
Luckett admitted, “I do believe that when you aren’t kind, and when you are forceful in your comments, it closes me down, all of me down.”
They talked about many things concerning their relationship after the difficult counseling session, while Walker drove the car to the airport. In the end, he left Luckett behind and flew to Dallas on his own. The enmity between them didn’t go away after that, and their marriage eventually ended.
Relationship Status
Both of them had already been married to different people before to their marriage. Between 2006 and 2014, Walker was married to a woman named Sherese Nix. Nix is a former assistant principal at Cedar Hill ISD, according to her Facebook profile, which was last updated in 2010.
Madison Walker, the reality star’s first daughter, was born in 2012 to him and his first wife. In 2016, Luckett, who is 40 years old, married Rob Hill Sr., an author, and motivational speaker. However, her private marriage only lasted a few months before they split owing to personal difficulties.
