‘Thunder Force’ Co-stars Stunned With Pom Klementieff’s Humor

Pom Klementieff, best known for her role as the endearing but strange alien Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is now venturing into the villainous realm with her latest Netflix film Thunder Force.

Pom Klementieff plays one half of a supervillain pair known as the Miscreants in the film. Her character Laser is so dissimilar to the previous film roles that a Black Film and TV host had to look her up on Google to remember what she looked like.

One of the funniest people on set was Klementieff

Thunder Force’s cast has been busy doing interviews with various outlets in order to promote the film’s April 9 date. One common denominator among the cast and crew, which included co-stars Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, and Octavia Spencer, as well as director/writer Ben Falcone, was Klementieff’s hilarious humor.
McCarthy stated in an interview with CinemaBlend that Klementieff was one of the funniest people on set simply because of her versatility as an actress. Despite being lethal, the French actress managed to incorporate a generous splash of weird into her on-screen character, which added to the comedy.

Pom’s really funny. I mean she’s so willing to just go anywhere, and she was so weird as Laser, and I loved it.

Following McCarthy, Oscar winner Spencer said that Klementieff shocked her with her deadpan delivery. Working together was made to sound like a lot less work and a lot more enjoyable by the cast. So much so that Cannavale struggled to maintain his composure throughout the shoot. As he puts it,

Pom and I never met and so I was delighted to be surprised like that by somebody who I’d never acted with before. I had a hard time keeping it together with Pom

Despite the fact that she doesn’t have many film acting credits to her name, her resume is chock-full of noteworthy roles. Through her debut, she was thrust into the limelight.

In the second installment of Guardians of the Galaxy, she became popular after joining the galaxy’s favorite band of misfits. Since then, she has appeared in the hit films Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, as well as the Mission: Impossible franchise, of which she is also a member, need no introduction.

The Pominator will appear in both Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8, according to her IMDb profile, though it is unclear what part she will play. One thing is certain: she will reprise her role as Mantis in the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
