The White Lotus, an HBO miniseries, has been renewed for a second season. The White Lotus has been officially renewed for Season 2 by the network, despite the fact that it was originally marketed as a limited series.

The network announced in a press release that the second season of The White Lotus would have significant cast and setting changes. According to a statement provided by HBO, the first season was set in Hawaii, and it followed several characters from the series on vacation at the nasty White Lotus resort.
Jake Lacy, Fred Hechinger, Brittany O’Grady, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Steve Zahn, and Molly Shannon were among the Season 1 expanded cast, however the roster for Season 2 has yet to be determined.

Series Creater White’s Thoughts on Season 2
Before the renewal, series creator, writer, and director White told Entertainment Weekly that bringing another season of the show means starting from scratch and going through the same process again. He said he wanted to do it because he thought it would be a good approach to explore some new ideas “in a way that feels different from this one.”
When challenged about the decision to change the actors and location, White explained that filming an entire season in Maui, Hawaii, would now be prohibitively expensive. He added that because of the low rates in the pandemic, the first season could be filmed there.
“So it’d have to be something like The White Lotus: Kyoto. Which would be entertaining as well, because we could discuss cultural clashes and other such topics. So I’d absolutely do that, and I’m waiting to hear back from them “he exclaimed, ecstatically.
