Entourage is an American comedy-drama television series that premiered on HBO on July 18, 2004, and ran for eight seasons. On September 11, 2011, the series came to an end after 96 episodes across eight seasons.
The show follows Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), a young A-list movie star, and his New York City boyhood friends as they attempt to build their fledgling careers in Los Angeles.
Doug Ellin created and scripted the majority of the series, with executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson. The plot is inspired by Wahlberg’s own experiences as a rising Hollywood star. When it first broadcast, the sitcom received positive reviews, but as the seasons progressed, the ratings began to decrease. As a follow-up to Season 8, the showrunner and producers published a film with the same title.
It follows actor Chase, who overspends on his directorial debut and begs newly appointed studio CEO Ari Gold for further funds. Unfortunately, while the movie was well welcomed by the show’s devoted fans, it earned poor reviews from the general public. Fans, on the other hand, are still hoping for a reboot.
Members of the cast are considering returning for the reboot
Ellin has already stated that the majority of the cast members are open to returning for a relaunch. Grenier, on the other hand, has reservations about returning. He informed Entertainment Weekly that he would first examine the contract to see what they would do. While he is “quite open to everything,” he is now preoccupied with his life.
Grenier has stepped away from the entertainment scene since the end of Entourage. With the Netflix thriller series Clickbait, he recently made a major comeback. He and his partner, Jordan Roemmele, have been living on their Texas farm. Grenier moved to Texas last year and appears to be loving every minute of it, according to his Instagram.
This could be what he meant when he stated he was currently preoccupied with his life. Regardless, he’d “definitely take a look” if he was asked to return for the Entourage revival.
On the other hand, his co-star Dillion is all set to return for the relaunch. Johnny, Chase’s elder half-brother, trainer, personal chef, and bodyguard, is played by Dillion, who is also Chase’s older half-brother, trainer, personal chef, and bodyguard.
In November 2020, Dillion talked about the reboot with ComingSoon. He stated that he has worked with Ellin for a long time and that the relaunch would be considered. Similarly, he affirmed that all of the cast members are on board. As a result, if HBO approves, we could see a reboot in the near future.
Is an ‘Entourage’ Reboot in the Works?
TMZ interviewed Ellin on the relaunch on August 27, 2021. Ellin, unexpectedly, stated that he was on board with the Entourage relaunch and that he had written numerous concepts for it. Similarly, he stated that Grenier, Jeremy Piven, Kevin Dillon, Kevin Connolly, and Jerry Ferrara, among others, were all set to film the reboot.
However, one individual – executive producer Mark Wahlberg — is required to make it all happen. Ellin indicated that they had not yet offered the idea to HBO, and that they would need Wahlberg’s help to do so. As a result, it appears that Wahlberg and HBO are in charge of everything. If they agree, a relaunch of Entourage might be launched soon.
