With an innate talent for acting and a desire to make a name for themselves in the world of drama, the twin sisters persuaded their parents to relocate to California so that they could pursue a full-time professional acting career.

In 1990, the parents gave in to their children’s wishes and relocated the family to Los Angeles.
Tamera and Tia began their careers by competing in pageants and talent shows. They soon found themselves in minor roles in television series.

Tamera first appeared on screen as Penelope in ‘Flesh n Blood.’ She then appeared in ‘True Colors,’ before collaborating with her twin sister on her brother’s show ‘Full House.’

Tamera made her television debut with the show ‘Sister, Sister,’ in which she co-starred with her twin sister Tia. The show was created after a producer spotted them on the set of ‘Full House,’ a show in which their brother appeared frequently. ‘Sister, Sister’ began on ABC but was cancelled after two years and picked up by The WB, where it remained for another four years.
