Lyric Lewis is one of the luckiest mothers in the world, having had her entire pregnancy documented on film.
From hosting the Netflix reality cooking show American Barbecue Showdown weeks into her pregnancy to being weeks away from giving birth to her kid by the time Lyric Lewis finished season 3 of the Peacock sitcom, almost every aspect of her pregnancy was documented on camera.
While the TV celebrity has always kept her personal life private, that isn’t the case with her maternity experience. In March 2020, she gave birth to a baby girl.
Ben Lepley, the actor of A.P. Bio, has been in a long-term relationship with the actress. The adolescent sweethearts appear to have stood the test of time and have been faithful to one another for nearly two decades. Despite the fact that the pair has begun their journey as parents, they have yet to make their marriage legal. Stevie Jade, their baby girl, was born on March 9, 2020.
Lyric Lewis shared their first photo as a family of three on Instagram on March 15, 2020, just a few days after her delivery. The lovely black and white photograph showed the new mother holding her daughter in her arms, as Lepley smiled across at Stevie.
Lewis wrote in the caption that the couple had been talking about her since they were 17 years old. Since then, she has identified Stevie’s birthday as her favorite day. The Girlfriend’s Day singer also stated that the previous week has exceeded her wildest expectations, and that there are simply no words to describe the new parents’ love.
On Mother’s Day, May 9, 2021, the actress also shared a sweet image of the mother-daughter duo.
As a Mother, a New Chapter
When questioned about her new phase as a mother and bringing her kid into the world in a 2020 interview with ET. Lewis called her new adventure as “wild,” but she believes her daughter entered their lives at the perfect time.
Stevie has maintained her mental state relaxed, and it is because of her that she has remained grounded, she explained. She was also a little sentimental in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, protests, and everything else going on at the time, but her child brought hope and joy to her life.
Every day when I wake up, I think to myself, “We’re healthy and happy.” I have a baby who is doing well. And it’s reminded me of the things for which I should be grateful.
Filming when pregnant
In an interview with ET, the actress also discussed her pregnant journey while filming A.P. Bio. She described the encounter as “wonderful.” She also expressed her delight at being able to inform the show’s creator, Mike O’Brien, of the news. However, she was concerned right away that the pregnancy and maternity leave would derail the plot.
O’Brien, on the other hand, was ecstatic and immediately asked, “Do you want that on the show?” She was pleased and felt valued as a cast member when she said yes.
It warmed her heart to watch him really embrace it, and she is overjoyed to see her character now have a child. Lewis also revealed that she watched all of the episodes and kept track of how many times she touched her stomach while filming.
