Back in 2008-2009, Fox News host Shepard appreciated his sexuality. He never came out of the closet in public, however.

He didn’t say anything when the e-magazine Gawker reported him dating a Fox employee in 2013. Shepard has since been suspected of being gay.

However, during a speech at the University of Mississippi’s Meek School of Journalism in June 2017, Shepard publicly admitted to being gay.

For about 45 minutes, the veteran journalist gushed about his sexuality and revealed his coming out story. He claimed that he never concealed his sexuality but was simply avoiding the subject.

Shepard also admitted that for the majority of his life, he had never considered his sexuality. To avoid thinking about his preference, he went to work, used to manage a large number of people, covered news, and dealt with holy men around him.

But he couldn’t deny it and had to embrace it wholeheartedly. And, as a result of his disclosure, his fears of being alone vanished, and people rallied around him even more. In March 2018, the Fox channel renegotiated a multiyear contract with him.
