Sheldon Simeon was born on July 20th, 1982. His parents raised him in Hilo, Hawaii, where he was exposed to their rich culinary culture.
Sheldon’s parents were Filipinos with a rich culinary history and tradition to pass on to their children. He attributes his extensive food knowledge and cooking abilities to his parents.
Sheldon had a different career plan for himself as a child, wanting to pursue a career in architecture. However, Sheldon’s fascination with “cooking and serving” led him to pursue a career as a chef.
Sheldon learned to cook at a young age at home due to a family situation. Because of her illness, his mother was unable to work. She had undergone open-heart surgery.
As a result, his father, Reinior Simeon, had to work extra hours, which kept him mostly away. Sheldon and his older brother were thus forced to cook for themselves.
