Sebastian Stan to Be Cast As Young Luke Skywalker In ‘The Mandalorian’? Truth Behind the Rumors

Sebastian Stan is best known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Winter Soldier (MCU). Fans, on the other hand, have been clamoring for him to be cast as Luke Skywalker for years.

What began as a side-by-side picture comparison of Stan and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker has turned into a heated debate about Stan’s portrayal of the iconic Star Wars character. Stan has expressed interest in the part, and Mark Hamill has noted the actor’s similarity to him from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Regardless of how much attention the topic has received, the issue remains unresolved, particularly because it is primarily the fans who have requested it.

Sebastian has got the looks of a Young Mark Hamill

For years, fans have been requesting that Stan be cast as Luke Skywalker. It all began when morphy me posted a photo of Stan’s face on a headshot of Hamill from a Star Wars film.

People couldn’t stop talking about how similar they looked. The image quickly went viral, and many Star Wars fans demanded that Stan take over the role of the young Jedi.

Stan is a fantastic choice for the role of Luke, according to Hamill. The original Star Wars actor reflected on the contrast between him and Stan during a 2017 appearance on Good Morning America.
Prior to his appearance on Good Morning America, where he made a “I am your dad” joke, Hamill sent out a funny tweet about it.

Will Sebastian Stan really be cast as Luke Skywalker?

The Mandalorian season 2 finale featured a young Luke Skywalker. The fact that Hamill was actively involved in the scene added to its uniqueness. To bring back the young jedi, the show used de-aging special effects and a body double.

While many fans adored the scene, others felt Hamill’s de-aged appearance was unsettling. After pointing out the shortcomings in the original series, VFX artists from Corridor Crew recreated the scene using various techniques and technology.

But, putting aside the controversy about the scene’s consistency, there’s a fair chance Stan will be cast as Luke Skywalker. To begin with, the next season of The Mandalorian is likely to feature more of Luke, as he has taken Grogu (Baby Yoda) under his wing. Given how difficult it would be to keep Hamill as Luke, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Stan step in.

Nonetheless, the majority of the support for this casting campaign has come from fans, and Lucasfilm could cast someone else in the role.
