Who is Steven Gallant?
Steven Gallant (born 1977) is an English prisoner from Hull, East Yorkshire. The man who has made headlines is a convicted assassin of ex-firefighter Barrie Jackson.
Steven Gallant is now regarded as a hero for risking his own life to apprehend the stabber. In 2019, there were calls to decrease his sentence, but Barrie’s family fought it.
But this time the situation is the polar opposite of what he has done in the past. The 43-year-old prisoner has been pardoned for his brave act of apprehending terrorist Usman Khan, who was responsible for the London Bridge assaults on November 29, 2019.

Case of Murder and Penalty
Barrie of Hull left his house on April 24, 2005, to go out for a drink but never returned. On the same day, at about 10:30 p.m., he was severely beaten by a gang, making it impossible for paramedics to find his mouth and revive him.
Steven Gallant was a member of the gang. The incident was pre-planned, according to police, who were already waiting for Jackson outside the pub. The firefighter tried everything he could to get away from the attackers, but their hammer shots rendered him immobile.
James Gilligan is his accomplice; after being charged with murder, they were both sentenced to 17 years in prison.
