Robin began his career as a stand-up comedian in the 1970s. He made his debut at San Francisco’s Holy City Zoo, a comedy club. He then moved to Los Angeles and began doing stand-up comedy in a variety of venues.
His performance in ‘The Comedy Store’ also impressed TV producer George Schlatter. The following year, Robin was cast in his revival show, Laugh-In. Despite the show’s failure, Robin went on to have a successful career in television.
In addition, he was cast in an HBO comedy special in which he did stand-up comedy. The shows were Off the Wall (1978), An Evening with Robin Williams (1983), and A Night at the Met (1986).
