Robin Gill may have a steady job as a weekend anchor for Global National and B.C. Correspondent, but that hasn’t always been the case for the diva. She began her career at CHAN-TV as a writer and researcher before moving to Saskatchewan to work as a reporter and anchor.
Gill later worked as a reporter for the CBC in Vancouver. In addition, the diva founded A-Channel, a news station in Calgary, where she hosted both the morning and evening news shows. In the summer of 2000, she relocated to Toronto to work for CIII-Global TV’s News.
She covered several stories over the years, including the SARS outbreak, provincial elections in 2003 and 2007, the 2003 blackout, and the visit of the Dalai Lama.
She became the new weekend anchor for the Global National in December 2008. In fact, in March 2011, Gill covered the devastating earthquake and tsunami. In addition, in 2009, she traveled to India to produce a five-part special series on Canadians in India.
