Danny DeVito, another show co-star, was also in attendance at the wedding, which took place in the vineyard. Additionally, Fred Savage and Bones star Emily Deschanel attended the wedding.

They began dating discreetly in 2006. Olson addressed it further in an interview with instyle.com, stating;
“We were very sneaky at first because we thought, this is a really bad idea. But then I fell in love with him,”
McElhenney proposed to Olson with an antique 1920s diamond cocktail ring in the Malibu beach house of co-star Danny DeVito nearly two years after they began dating. McElhenney stated in the same interview;
“She loves the beach when it’s cold,”

Viewers of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia may have been aware of Mac’s homosexuality for years, but only throughout the series. He is happily married to the stunning Kaitlin Olson. Mac, on the other hand, spoke to Greg Hernandez on Aug 7, 2010, for greginhollywood.com and stated that he was in favor of gay marriage.
“I certainly have a very strong political position when it comes to that issue however, I don’t think it’s our responsibility to dictate to other people what our position is and that we just try to present both sides of the argument and that there are hycoprocies that lie on both sides on the argument and then bring in a third element which is transgender as opposed to gay or straight and it makes for an interesting conversation.”
