According to a source close to Alma, she made the decision to divorce in March 1992. Even the presence of four wonderful children was unable to prevent their marriage from disintegrating.
Their first child, a son named Richard Francisco, was born in 1976. Alma gave birth to triplet girls on 26 August 1981, namely Barbara Ayala, Gweneth Gonzales, and Pilar Alma.

Richard married Georgiana Bischoff on 20 November 1994 in Los Feliz, California, more than a year after divorcing Alma. Richard married for the second time, while Georgiana married for the third time.
Around 50 guests, largely blood relations attended the celebration. Richard’s son, Richard Francisco, served as best man, while his triplet daughters, together with Georgiana’s daughters from prior marriages, served as bridesmaids.
When he wedded his wife Georgiana again in May 1995, the American actor attended his third wedding ceremony in a Pueblo Indian culture. Georgiana gave birth to a baby boy named Montana James a year later, on 28 July 1996.
The duo met in 1992, shortly after Georgiana’s divorce. Georgiana Bischoff, his second wife, is a member of the Pueblo Indian Tribe.

Richard portrayed Erik Blake, the family’s head, in the drama, which focused on the life of a working-class family dealing with generational conflicts, career crises, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Richard’s persona Blake worked as a maintenance worker at a nearby Catholic High School. Erik’s coming to terms with his daughter’s life choices, his mother’s death, and the secrets he has kept from his family was the basis for the play.
