Rashida Jones, the daughter of famed music producer Quincy Jones, is a sharp, intellectual actress who has built a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
Her career in the entertainment industry, however, has also seen her make headlines for the wrong reasons. She is the quintessential playgirl, having been associated to a number of high-profile guys. The vast dating list includes the industry’s who’s who, and he’s even been engaged to two of them.
But why hasn’t she gotten married yet? So, here are the insights that expose her dating decisions.
High-profile Dating History; Twice Engaged
Rashida Jones, who is best known for her role as Ann Perkins on the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation, has been romantically involved with a lengthy line of high-profile individuals.
Her relationship with actor Tobey Maguire, who played Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man film trilogy, began in 1997. Rashida and Tobey were a couple for three years until splitting up in 2000. According to some stories, they were even engaged.
Rashida was observed in a relationship with Mark Ronson, an English musician, DJ, singer, and record producer, two years later. They began dating in 2002 and had a strong relationship with one other. Their relationship seemed to be floating along smoothly, and the couple even got engaged. However, things between them deteriorated following their engagement, and instead of their romance progressing to marriage, they called it quits in 2004.
Rashida allegedly dated Seth Meyers the same year. Their romance lasted for a brief time.
Rashida fell in love with The Office co-star John Krasinski a year later, in 2005. However, this, like Rashida’s prior romances, ended prematurely in 2006. Rashida was also said to be dating Charlie Hunnam, an English actor, and screenwriter, in the same year.
There was no word of Rashida being romantically connected for approximately three years. However, in 2009, she revealed her connection with presidential speechwriter Jon Favreau. They had been together for a year.
Following her connection with Jon, there was speculation that Rashida had a relationship with Garrett Hedlund, an American actor best known for his performances in the 2011 films Friday Night Lights.
Rashida dated Colin Jost, an American comedian, actor, and screenwriter best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, later in 2014. However, as time passed, their friendship deteriorated and they split ways.
She’s also been romantically linked to Vampire Weekend vocalist Ezra Koenig. In January 2017, the couple made their romance public.
However, the couple has not been in the press since they revealed their connection. And, given Rashida’s past with men, it’s unclear whether the couple is still dating or has already parted ways.
Will She Ever Get Married?
Rashida Jones, who portrayed Karen on The Office, has been romantically linked with a number of guys but has failed to commit to any of them. Despite the fact that she has been engaged twice before, she has yet to exchange wedding vows.
Rashida chatted with Madamenoire in 2014 on her single status. She admitted to not being married and admitted that it was difficult for her to accept at first. But she’s come to terms with the fact that she doesn’t have a husband or children. She declared unequivocally her position on marriage and stated,
“I’m happy, but the fact that I’m not married and don’t have kids – it’s taken me a long time to get to a place where I actually am OK with that, where I actually don’t feel like I’m some sort of loser.”
It turns out she no longer believes in marriage ties. When asked if she plans to marry, Rashida responded, “Wedding tags are not what make a good pair and a happy family.” She stated,
” Marriage doesn’t really buy you anything. It just buys you a really big s–tty pageant of a wedding to make other people happy.”
Well, it appears that she is enjoying a happy life free of the burden of the married title.
Into Co-Direction; Documentary Keeps Father Alive
While Netflix is no stranger to documenting musicians’ lives, they have now come up with a way to chronicle the life of Jazz superstar Quincy Jones, Rashida’s father. The series will be called Quincy and will premiere on September 21, 2018.
Rashida, who has a net worth of $25 million, has helped to immortalize her jazz icon father in a Netflix documentary, Quincy. She has co-directed the voyage of Quincy Jones, a man who wears many hats, from Trumpeter to jazz arranger and producer, which will be open to the public.
Rashida gets to learn life lessons alongside her father as she moves through the journey of uncovering her father’s life. It’s certainly a better opportunity for her to work alongside her father and present it to the rest of the world.
