Randy Clohessy– Biography, Facts & Life Story
You have a good chance of becoming a celebrity if you date or marry someone in the entertainment industry. Randy Clohessy, who rose to prominence as the wife of Italian-American singer Frankie Valli, falls into the same category.
Since 1953, the 86-year-old singer has left an indelible mark on rock and pop music. Randy Clohessy, his third wife, rose to fame as a result of his massive legacy.
Relationship Status
Frankie Valli’s personal life is filled with drama, particularly when it comes to marriages. Randy Clohessy’s first love and first husband, however, was not the same for the 86-year-old singer. Surprisingly, this was his third wedding after two divorces.
Valli was single when he ended his second marriage to MaryAnn Hannagan in 1982. It was then that he met Clohessy, with whom he instantly struck up a special bond. Eventually, the two began dating frequently before deciding to marry in 1984.
Randy and Valli decided to start a family together after a lavish wedding ceremony in Orange, New Jersey. They ended up having three sons as a result of this. While Frankie was preoccupied with his music for the majority of the time, his wife took care of all the household chores and raised their children. When they split up in 2004, just when everything seemed to be going well, their relationship began to show cracks.
Frankie Valli and Randy Clohessy’s Difficult Divorce
Many people were surprised to learn that Frankie Valli had divorced his third wife, Randy Clohessy, after two decades of marriage. Several issues regarding property distribution arose when they filed their divorce agreement in 2004.
The main point of contention centered on the couple’s ownership of a life insurance policy purchased in 2003. The appeal to the California Supreme Court was subjected to numerous hearings. They finally reached a decision on May 15, 2014, after a decade of deliberation. The court unanimously upheld the trial court’s decision that the policy belonged to the community and not to Randy Clohessy.
Clohessy continued to live a low-key life after the divorce, much as she did before meeting Valli. Despite an ‘irreconcilable differences’ breakup, she maintains good relations with her ex-husband and children.
Why Clohessy Assaulted a Restaurant Owner?
Yes, while they were together, Frankie Valli’s third wife created a scene that drew public attention. While Randy Clohessy’s life was already full of drama and controversy, he added to it when he assaulted a restaurant owner while they were out to eat.
The incident occurred in 1998 when the two were still together. Clohessy and her husband, Frankie Valli, went to the Secret Garden restaurant in Moorpark, California, for dinner. Surprisingly, the menu price and service appeared to be excessive for the celebrity couple who had enraged them. As things progressed, the owner, Sandra Sofsky, entered the picture and set off the diva. Clohessy became enraged and slapped the owner as a result.
The two ex-lovers then ran away from the crime scene. Valli initially defended Randy by claiming that Sandra was the one who started it all. However, after a thorough investigation, his wife was found to be the guilty party. Fortunately, she avoided jail time and was instead placed on probation. Randy also served six months of community service to make amends for her heinous crime.
