Kim’s Convenience star Paul Sun-Hyung Lee has been married to his wife Anna for almost 20 years. Lee and Anna have talked about their relationship and said what makes their marriage work. In 2017, the actor and his wife talked to Streets of Toronto about how they met and fell in love. Anna said they met through a friend or couple they both knew.
“Paul was out with a grumpy friend at a bar. I went out with some friends from college. Paul called some people we both knew to find out what they had planned for the evening, she said.
“Meanwhile, I nearly didn’t go to the pub with them but ended up going anyway… We met, laughed at each other, swapped phone numbers, and the rest, as they say, is history.”

Lee and his wife also talked about the first time they went on a real date. Anna said that they had gone all over Toronto on their date. After dinner at the Hot Tomato, they went to the Living Well for a drink.
The two then went to a martini and cigar bar called Havana Blues. “There was a lot of walking, talking, and laughing,” she said, adding that Lee had come back from a record store with the latest Tom Waits CD.
Anna said that as she got to know Lee better, he showed her wide-screen movies, games like Golden Eye, and sci-fi. “I had a great time playing video games and watching movies on my small TV in my Kensington Market basement apartment.”
Know About His Family and Married Life
Lee and his wife got married on December 31, 1999, just a few hours before the year 2000 started. The actor admits that the proposal wasn’t as romantic as he had hoped because Anna was “sick as a dog.”
Lee and Anna got married in Toronto on August 25, 2001, a year and a half after Lee asked Anna to marry him. The two of them went on their honeymoon to Orlando, Florida.
Since then, Noah and Miles, their two sons, were born. Lee told CBC that his oldest son Noah looks a lot like him when he talked about his family.
“My oldest son Noah likes all geeky things, like Star Wars, which is great,” he said. “He’s like a smaller version of me, and I think that’s why we fight so much—we’re so similar.”
Lee’s youngest son, Miles, was so “not him” because he was so strong and active. He also talked about Miles’s nerdy hobbies, like stop-motion animation and drawing.
Even though Lee thinks Miles is different from him, they still like some of the same things. The actor from Kim’s Convenience recently posted photos of himself and his youngest child having fun while looking through the Toys”R”Us Canada catalog on Instagram.
