Billions are back to continue what they began in COVID year.
Yes! The brutal, cutthroat world of finance and drama, which had to postpone the release of its fifth season until 2020, will be brought to a close, at least in part, in the second chapter, which will be released this year. There will be a third season of the show.
A new trailer for the fifth season’s second chapter was published to build anticipation.
The Incredible Weight Loss of Paul Giamatti in 2021
Even said, if there was one thing that drew more attention to the current trailer, it had to be Paul Giamatti’s incredible weight reduction makeover.
Extra TV went so far as to imply that Giamatti was half of what he was in the first half of the season in an interview with one of the show’s key actors, David Costabile and that it wasn’t just him losing his beard.
Even Costabile joked that Giamatti might have fasted for the duration of the pandemic. Costabile, on the other hand, stated that he had no idea how Paul Giamatti shed so much weight. Also, Paul Giamatti hasn’t revealed how much weight he’s lost. Despite this, The Cinemaholic claimed a 15-pound weight drop.
Then, altering the discussion, he joked that he had decided to keep his beard and gain the weight that Giamatti had lost.
Paul Giamatti has a six-month weight-loss plan
Billions have put the production of its fifth season on hold until April 2020, according to Variety. Showtime had opted to run with whatever they had for a partial season for the time being, according to the outlet.
Season 5’s first half began in May 2020 and finished in July 2020, following only seven episodes. The global epidemic, which had been on the rise for the better part of 2020, clearly influenced the decision.
Deadline reported a few months later that the show would start production in October 2020, right around the time Showtime announced the show has been renewed for a sixth season. The site also speculated that shooting for the sixth season will begin as soon as the cast and crew finished filming the fifth season.
With that in mind, it’s reasonable to conclude Giamatti had fewer than six months to make up his decision and put in the effort required to undergo a complete transformation.
Fans are taken aback
Fans of the show quickly took to Reddit to express their delight at Giamatti’s remarkable weight loss. One person commented on how disconcerting it was to see Giamatti in such a different light in the new teaser.
Another admirer took the time to carefully observe the actor’s appearance and compile their comments in a post that noticed how he had dropped weight, shaved off his beard after many years, shaved a smidgeon of hair from the top of his head, and wore his hair white with ease. They continued,
All of those changes in his looks, which practically everyone is experiencing at the same moment for the first time in over a year, have a significant influence.
Fans were understandably taken aback by Giamatti’s makeover. While most of us were surprised by the actor’s weight loss, Gary Levine, Showtime Networks’ head of entertainment, promised everyone that the show’s plot would not change despite the forced pause.
