Following their engagement in September 2020, the Super Bowl champion married Brittany Matthews in a long-awaited ceremony.
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews have been married!
The long-distance pair tied the knot in Maui, Hawaii, on Saturday, saying “I do” in front of family and friends amid stunning palm trees and the setting sun.
Mahomes, 26, donned a gray suit for the occasion, while Matthews, also 26, wore a gorgeous white gown with cutouts along her torso.
Jackson Mahomes, Mahomes’ younger brother, served as best man, and Travis Kelce, a Kansas City Chiefs teammate, served as groomsman. According to TMZ, Kelce’s girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, was also one of Matthew’s bridesmaids.

Following the ceremony, the couple uploaded a combined Instagram post with a compilation of images from their big day. Sterling Skye, the couple’s 1-year-old daughter, is also featured in the series.
“Mr. and Mrs. Mahomes,” says the narrator. Both Mahomes and Matthews captioned their own photographs.
The happy pair had teased their wedding to fans on Instagram all week as they enjoyed time with their daughter and wedding party in the sun.
The long-awaited day for Matthews and Mahomes came more than a year after the Chiefs quarterback — who led the team to Super Bowl LIV triumph — proposed on his now-25th wife’s birthday on Sept. 1, 2020.
At Arrowhead Stadium, Mahomes proposed an elaborate display that included hundreds of white roses. According to images posted to Matthews’ Instagram Story at the time, the pair then spent a romantic candlelit meal together.

“My heart is overflowing! I adore this man, and today was very memorable!, “Matthews, a former professional soccer player, expressed his feelings on Instagram at the moment. “Couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful day.”
While attending Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas, the pair met. The two have been dating since the 10th grade, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Mahomes confessed after the proposal that he had butterflies coming up to the big occasion. He says he was more worried about proposing to Matthews than he was about playing in his first Super Bowl.
When asked to compare the two occasions, the NFL player told KCSP 610 Sports Radio, “I would say probably proposing.” “When you’ve been with someone for a long time, you don’t think it’ll be nerve-wracking, but your heart is racing before you go down on one knee. That I can assure you.”
Things have only gotten better for the longtime pair after Mahomes won the Super Bowl in February 2020.
Mahomes and the Chiefs agreed on a $450 million extension a few months after the game, which includes a $140 million injury guarantee and is one of the richest sports contracts in history. Mahomes has been with the Chiefs since being drafted first overall in the 2017 draft.
When Mahomes became a part-owner of the Kansas City Royals, he surprised the sports world. According to CNBC, Mahomes became the youngest part-owner in sports history by joining the ownership group.
The couple’s most exciting news came when they revealed they were expecting their first child together. Matthews announced the pregnancy on Instagram, where she posted two photographs of herself holding a sonogram while Mahomes hugged her tummy. She wrote at the time, “Mom and Dad, taking a slight detour to the wedding.”
Mahomes and the Chiefs have now advanced to another Super Bowl, where they were defeated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
