Pamela Moyes: Career
He grew up watching his father, a coach at Drumchapel Amateurs, who was his lifelong supporter and from whom he got all the answers to football-related questions.
Even though he had nearly 600 appearances as a player, Moyes was unsure if he would end up as a coach because he didn’t think he was a big-name player.
He never wanted the job when he was playing for Preston because he was under contract, and he wasn’t sure if he wanted the coaching job until he was offered it.
However, he declined the job right away, stating that he would instead take over a caretaker position. After losing a couple of games as a player-manager, he took his managing job seriously and gave it his all.
He eventually took over as manager and went from strength to strength, trying to slake the thirst for information about what good players were doing, their good behaviors, and how they practiced in order to gain as much knowledge and understanding as possible while dealing with the players’ coaches.
After managing Preston North End for 11 years, he went on to manage Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad, and Sunderland before joining West Ham United.
His first year with Everton went well, the second year did not, the third year went better, and the fourth year did not. Everton spent a long time in the top seven, eight, six, five, and four in the Premier League.
Stability at the club, getting to know what the club wants, and the club’s theme, as well as modern culture and style adaptation, are all important factors, according to Moyes.
