Education and Family History
Okieriete was raised in New Jersey by his parents, both of whom were Nigerian immigrants. In 2005, he graduated from West Orange High School. He shattered his femur while horsing with pals as a high school football player.
He was unable to walk for six months. Following his rehabilitation, he abandoned football to pursue acting in theaters. Okieriete also attended Rutgers University for a year before dropping out due to acting commitments.
When it comes to his family, the Thanks For Sharing actor is close to his mother and brothers, but nothing is known about his father. Okieriete’s mother, a former nurse, is the topic of several of his social media posts.
On May 13, 2018, he devoted a tweet to his mother, expressing his undying love for her. In the tweet, he stated,
