Natasha Rothwell is an actress and screenwriter best known for her role as Kelli on HBO’s Insecure. She also worked as a story editor on the show. Her wiki states that she was born in New Jersey in 1980. Every 18th of October, the actress blows out her birthday candles.
Natasha was born into a Philadelphia family, and both of her parents worked hard. Her father served in the Air Force, and her mother worked in cancer and hematology. Natasha gathered all her courage to tell her parents that she wanted to pursue a career in acting because her parents were involved in jobs that saved lives.
Prior to that, she was continuing her education at Ithaca College, where she majored in Journalism. The actress eventually transferred to the University of Maryland on a full scholarship and earned a bachelor’s degree in theatre.
Loss of Weight
Natasha lost a lot of weight between the first and second seasons of Insecure. Even if she lost some weight, she made it a point to let people know that she loved herself regardless of her size.
I’m proud to be plus-size. I’m a plus-size, fat-loving, body-positive feminist who seeks roles that reflect that. And I try to write about it whenever I get the chance. It’s not necessarily writing a plot that says, “Let’s celebrate and focus on this person’s size.” It’s telling any story, and the protagonist happens to be plus-size.
Her fans were taken aback by the weight loss she underwent. Many people took to Twitter to express their gratitude for her efforts; others commented on how she looked better before the weight loss.
Natasha, on the other hand, did not lose her charm as she gained weight. She has admitted to being a proud plus-size woman.
Relationship Status: Single?
When it comes to Natasha’s romantic involvement, things are unclear. On Twitter, she has mentioned her ‘boyfriends’ numerous times. Her boyfriend is sometimes the gym, who makes her sweat. She refers to Idris Elba as her boyfriend on occasion.
She even revealed her marital status in 2013. She tweeted that she was a married CPA working late due to tax season for the night. Natasha also tweets about her potential future husband on occasion. She frequently speculates on where she will meet her husband.
One thing is certain: Natasha does not have a boyfriend and is not married.
Professional Life And Career
Saturday Night Live was looking for a black woman to join the cast in 2015. Natasha auditioned for the part without blinking. Unfortunately, Sasheer Zamata was given the spot, and Natasha was given a consolation job writing for SNL. She was quickly surrounded by opportunities, which led to a meeting with HBO programming executive Amy Gravitt, who recommended her for one of Issa Rae’s TV shows.
She was hired right away. Natasha was also one of the first Insecure writers to be interviewed. Natasha began co-writing with Ben Cory Jones during the second season.
Natasha has made a name for herself in films in addition to TV shows. Love, Simon is one of the well-known films in which she appeared. Natasha portrayed Ms. Albright, the curt drama teacher. She also appeared as a stand-up comedian on many episodes of Wild ‘N Out after joining the show in its sixth season.
