Season 18 of The Bachelorette premieres on ABC on October 19, and it’s Michelle Young’s turn to find love. Young’s forthcoming season was teased by ABC in a trailer that aired during a Bachelor in Paradise episode. The trailer demonstrates that the 28-year-old Minnesota native is dedicated to finding her ideal partner.
Set to Little Mix’s “Bounce Back,” the sneak peek shows Young looking stunning in a custom white lacey gown with a high slit designed by Stanley Hudson. Michelle Young enters a room adorned with exquisite floral arrangements and takes a moment to smell a rose.
The former basketball star then displays her dribbling prowess on the court before tossing the ball into a crystal net. She strides into the classroom from the basketball court. The elementary school teacher pulls an apple off a student’s desk and tosses it into the air while giving the camera a confident and angry look.
She then walks down a stairwell decked out in flowers by Bloom and Plume, a Los Angeles florist, before reminding everyone why she was on her own season of The Bachelorette.
Michelle Young Gets a Second Chance at Success Love
Young competed on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor earlier this year. Viewers were horrified as they witnessed Young cry after James sent her home in the finale. Young was rejected by James because he had reservations about her, which was a bad omen.
Young stated she was totally shattered by his decision during the After the Final Rose special, and to make matters worse, she never received closure from their relationship. James then expressed regret for injuring her.
The producers thankfully offered the sad bachelorette and Katie Thurston a second chance. Thurston, who spent the season with Young, ended 11th. Thurston just finished her season of The Bachelorette, and she even gave Young some advise before she started hers. She advised the newlywed to keep an open mind.
Michelle Young’s Relationships in the Past
Young also confessed on the episode that she had a meaningful relationship prior to her relationship with James. They split up in January 2020 when the relationship “grew unhealthy,” despite her belief that it should have stopped sooner. Kyle Aaron, Young’s ex-boyfriend, is most likely Kyle Aaron, whom Young met at Bradley University in Illinois, where he also played basketball.
Aaron does not have any evidence of their relationship on Instagram, but he does have a lot of photos of them together on Facebook. Though it’s unclear how long the two of them dated, it appeared that they were in a serious relationship, as Aaron had photos dating back to 2016. Their most recent tagged photo together on Facebook is from October of this year.
Young will hopefully go away with a ring on her finger this time after two failed efforts.
