Matt, who stands tall, was born on August 8, 1974, in Pierre, North Dakota. He, like Otto Kilcher, was awestruck by the beauty of nature from a young age. Perhaps this is why, at the age of 15, he was able to become a rock climber and triathlete. Matt’s abilities were not limited there, as he earned the title of runner after running the Pacific Crest Trail, 1700 miles in 58 days.
Matt made a remarkable name in history as he grew up taking risks and adventures, living in nature for the last 20 years while using a knife as a survival skill. The 44-year-old also studied self-defense techniques such as Judo, Taekwondo, Wushu, and Kung Fu.
