Lil Wayne Had More Than 300 Tattoos Done By The Same Tattoo Artist!

With his rap songs, Lil Wayne has amassed millions of followers all over the world. Many people, however, adore his tattoos, which are inscribed all over his body.

Dow Hokoana, the rapper’s former tattoo artist, told The Fader’s Blaire Monroe in January 2017 that she tattooed roughly 300 tattoos on his body, mostly around his lower body.

“A tattoo artist named Duel who I had never met had done a couple of tattoos on Wayne and had heard that he was searching for an artist who could basically take on, kind of like a full-time arrangement, to tattoo him until he had a complete body suit,” she explained to the outlet.

“He chose a female because he was doing a complete body costume,” she continued. Duel recommended me after seeing my work around South Beach.

Dow Hokoana Inked on Lil Wayne the Most Iconic Tattoo

The tattoo of a cloud and a lightning bolt on Wayne’s cheek, up by his temple, was the most famous work she performed for him, according to his former tattoo artist. She said the rapper once approached her and pointed to her daughter’s book bag, which had a lightning bolt printed on it. He tweaked the design and manufactured the piece when she inquired if he really wanted it.

Lil Wayne’s Dow Hokoana Completed Body Suit

Hokoana took a long time to finish Lil Wayne’s bodysuit. Wayne and the tattoo artist discussed the estimated time to create the outfit, according to the tattoo artist.

She estimated that it would take three years to get in front of the rapper. It took her three and a half years to finish the bodysuit, which covered every inch of his body.

Lil Wayne’s former tattoo artist inked his sensitive areas as well.

Hokoana admitted to making tattoos around the rapper’s sensitive parts, such as eye tattoos and tattoos around his crotch, during the same conversation.

“Even as a female, all you can do when tattooing [that area] is basically hold your own breath because it’s like… [makes a horrific weeping sound],” she explained.

“I’ve done this for a few clients,” she added. I’m sure [Wayne] was in a lot of pain, but he handled it like a pro. It’s true. But that did happen. It took roughly 45 minutes to complete. “He’s a G,” says the narrator.

More Tattoos on the Rapper’s Face Have Recently Been Added

Aside from Hokoana’s 300 tattoos, the renowned rapper has other tattoos on his body. He apparently received a couple more tattoos on his face earlier this year, in March, with the help of famed tattoo artist Ivana Belakova. The most recent addition was a heartbeat on top of his brow.
