Inception and Formation
Joel Pimentel, Erick Brian Colón, Richard Camacho, Zabdiel De Jess, and Christopher Vélez auditioned for the inaugural season of La Banda in September 2015. This was a televised singing competition that premiered on Univision in September 2015. Simon Cowell devised the competition, but Rick Martin was the producer.

They released their first single, “Tan Facil,” on January 29, 2016, and it was such a hit that it reached number 25 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart. The song debuted at number 23 on the Hot Latin Songs Chart and quickly rose to the top of the iTunes Latino Charts in the United States. It eventually reached the top of the Latin Airplay chart. These youngsters had no intention of slowing down.
