Lahmard Tate, who will be 53 years old in 2023, has already acted in over three dozen films. In addition, he has and continues to act, direct, and produce with his brothers throughout his career.
Tate has been working in the entertainment industry since 1987, and is most known for his part as Billy in the 2002 Ice Cube film Barbershop. He’s also worked on Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. (2018), Method & Red (2004), Moesha (2000-2001), and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (2000-2001). (1992).
Lahmard is still going strong at the age of 50. After a two-year hiatus between 2015 and 2018, he returned to acting in 2019 with Unsolved and is now starring in All American (2019-2020).
Lahmard Tate Has Been Acting Since He Was 17
According to two birthday posts from his siblings, Lahmard Tate, whose full name is Lahmard J. Tate, was born on the 30th or 31st of October. And, as of November 2020, he will be 50 years old, having been born in the year 1970.
The Barbershop star began acting at a young age. In reality, once his family relocated to Los Angeles, he was enrolled in a performance arts school with his brothers Larron and Larenz Tate. As Larenz disclosed during an appearance on Great Day Houston, they are from Chicago.

In the same interview, Lahmard stated that performing was “a means to get out of trouble” when they were younger, whether it was singing, acting, or anything else.
At first, the Tate brothers had no intention of becoming actors and making a profession from it. However, as they began to land additional acting roles, they understood they were in for a long haul, and the rest is history.
Lahmard, the middle child, had his first mainstream acting role in 1987, at the age of 17, in the final year of the television series Hill Street Blues, which had been on the air since 1981. In the same year, he appeared in the film Barfly as a black kid in a cameo role (1987).
Lahmard Tate Is A Veteran Actor With More Than 30 Acting Credits
Lahmard Tate has 37 acting credits as of November 2020, including his two acting credits in his first year.
Tate has also lent his voice to a few gaming characters, including Moesha (2000-2001), Barbershop (2002), Method & Red (2004), Sabretooth (2002), Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. (2018), and All American (2019-2020). He may be heard as Jester in the 2007 game Crysis, as well as in the Spider-Man 3 video game, which was published the same year.
Lahmard Tate Has Also Worked Alongside His Brothers
Throughout his career in the entertainment industry, Lahmard has had the good fortune of working with both of his brothers, whether on-screen or behind the scenes in a project.
In terms of acting, Lahmard participated in a 2020 episode of the TV show Power alongside his younger brother Larenz, titled “Reversal of Fortune.” In the show, they portrayed real-life brothers.
In addition to acting, Lahmard has collaborated with his siblings on producing and directing other projects. Back to the Goode Life, a 2019 film in which Lahmard also starred as Cordell, was produced by all three of them. The team also directed a comedic video called The Hot Spot in 2005.
Lahmard, who is only 50 years old, still has plenty of time to work on bigger projects. We hope he continues to appear in a variety of films and television shows, as well as collaborate more with his siblings.
