James Pumphrey Overcame A Heart Attack

James shared a photo of himself recovering from surgery on November 2, 2019. The YouTuber/car nut explained that he had been experiencing strange pain in his neck and shoulders for the previous week.

His condition deteriorates as severe pain spreads to his jaw and right arm. So he drove himself to the ER, where the doctor informed him that he had been having a heart attack for the previous 12 hours.

James was in the lab in a matter of hours, and doctors were threading a tube from his right wrist through an artery to his heart.

He had another heart attack about six months prior, and two of the three arteries feeding his heart were completely blocked. One artery was cleared and a stint was added to keep it open, while another artery was rock hard, but his body had grown collateral vessels to feed itself, so he was getting enough blood flow.

James went on to say that when it came to his heart, he had terrible genetics. His father died at the age of 48 from a heart attack, and his sister Mary Pumphrey had a similar experience before she turned 30.

James saw his near-death experience as a second chance to change his life. His main issue was his habit of eating fast food and smoking cigarettes.

He claimed he had been smoking for nearly 15 years and eating a lot of unhealthy food. Finally, he pledged to change his lifestyle and expressed gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, and technologists at UCLA Medical Center for saving his life.
